Silicone surfactants are very important in the foam manufacturing process, they controls fine cell formation, acting as reactive centers providers. Their role is known to be as foam stabilizer, and if in the right amount in the formulation, is easy to avoid shrinkage, splits, closed cells formation or others defects that can affect the mechanical properties.

Yet in small amount in the formulation, their role is very important and with little changes, big impact can occur in the foam properties, therefore choosing the right silicone, the right amount and ratio is crucial in the foam manufacturing process.
